Acne Care

Here are some perhaps obvious but simple tips on treating and preventing acne on your skin that I have found to be very valuable.

Drink Water

Our body is made of 75% water. This explains why so many doctors talk about the good effects water can have on us. Drinking a lot of water helps you eliminate headaches, decrease your appetite and keep in shape. In addition, it also has a good effect on your skin, keeping it hydrated and healthy. Water should be part of any acne care treatment in order to fight efficiently against acne.

Keep Your Skin Clean

Everyone agrees that a cleaner skin is healthier and more fitted to fight against developing blemishes. With that said, it is important to wash your skin on a regular basis with semi-warm water. Medical studies have revealed that both cold and hot water can have a bad effect on your skin, so don't use them to clean out dirt and excessive oils.

Don't use rough pads to scrub your skin. A gentle cleaning will exfoliate your skin and has a greater success rate. You should also avoid using soap to clean your face, because it is abrasive and can harm your skin. A quality acne care treatment includes a cleanser that will clean your skin gently.

Natural Acne Treatment

Conventional treatments for acne are many times successful. These treatments include cleansing lotions made with benzoyl peroxide, creams or gels made with vitamin A, and antibiotic medications taken orally or applied to the skin. However, it is very important to consider the risk of scarring when choosing a certain treatment. Natural acne treatments are both efficient and cost effective and they reduce the risk of scarring. These treatments include a balanced diet, vitamins and nutritional supplements, herbs and bodywork.

Acne Care

There are several products that can be the best acne medication depending on your situation.

Not all acne products will be the best acne medication for you. For each individual, there will be something that does work and something that does not work for you. Each time that you attempt to treat your acne, you should carefully consider which options you have and then give them the best possible method of working. Acne is not fun and it can be very stressful to many young and old people.

What Products Do Work?

Banish the bane termed as acne forever. However, acne medication is not a quick fix solution. Go in for an acne medication that guarantees not only relief for the time being but also deters a relapse.

Acne is caused by accumulation of dead skin cells, overactive oil glands or an attack by the P. acnes bacteria. Acne medication involves striking at any one-root cause or taking a multi-pronged approach. However, the best acne medication is to be decided only by the dermatologist and it may be that the nature and severity of the acne problem, the patient’s age, lifestyle and medication routine may merit an individualized medication.

And finally one last point of interest...

You've heard all the warnings by your mother growing up. "Don't eat too much chocolate, you'll break out!" You'd have to sneak out of the house to get a chocolate fix. And if you were like most kids, you did anything to get that fix.

But was chocolate really the culprit for all those pimples?

Studies show, based on a typical teenager's diet that chocolate may have been the least of the offenders when it came to bad complexions. The truth of the matter is, pimples are caused by a number of factors other than chocolate.
